Curriculum

Our major objective at GIST is to develop individual skill levels for each child, ages 5-12, to encourage their interest in German-speaking countries and cultures and above all to enhance their enjoyment of the German language.​

We accommodate different language levels and backgrounds, ranging from children whose first language is German to beginners with an interest, but little or no German language background.  Using a combination of textbooks, workbooks, arts and crafts, stories, and songs, we provide a classroom setting that is conducive to fostering intellectual curiosity, no matter the linguistic level.  Older students who are already comfortable with reading and writing skills in English will be introduced to reading and writing in German, as well.
